About Village Stage

Village Stage rural touring scheme aims to provide memorable, uplifting and enjoyable arts experiences that enrich community life and provides a focus for shared celebration. By working in partnership with local volunteers, Village Stage brings high quality and affordable arts events, within easy travelling distance to the rural communities of Norfolk, Forest Heath and Mid Suffolk. Part of a national network of touring schemes (see http://www.nrtf.org.uk/), Village Stage provides expertise, training, marketing support and financial subsidy to voluntary groups so that they can select and promotelocal, regional, national and international artists to local venues that are welcoming and accessible. Breckland Council has joined up with Creative Arts East to offer you the chance to watch memorable theatre in towns and villages across the district. Our voluntary promoting groups will host regional and national theatre companies performing some fantastic shows for all ages.

Creative Arts East also works with Young Promoting Groups and Young audiences. The Bright Sparks scheme is currently in operation at North Walsham High School, City College, Norwich and in South Norfolk.
